About Me

When I entered college, I knew I wanted to help people. So I enrolled as a premed student and took my first science class. Soon I became disillusioned with those classes, wondering if I could do that for the rest of my life. So I took a telecommunications class that was about the power of fiber optic technology and I was hooked. The power of technology was intoxicating. It amazed me how much technology allowed us to do and how its growing possibilities seemed only limited by our imagination. In grade school, I never would have imagined that I wouldn’t have to go to a library to do research or that a phone could (gasp!) be portable. (Yes – I know I just dated myself.) But think how much we have advanced in a short period of time… and then imagine growing that much (and more) in the years to come. Its mind boggling…

So after I obtained my undergraduate degree in Telecommunications, I landed my first job working on multimedia projects and I loved it. But with technology changing so quickly, I knew that I needed to continually learn about this industry, new technologies, and people’s wants and desires in relation to said technologies to be successful. So I eventually went back to school and received my masters in New Media. I still have the same¬†enthusiasm¬†for media as I did in that first telecommunications class. Technology fascinates me. The way people use technology intrigues me. And discovering what makes some technologies successful and others fail when combining the two is just.. well, it’s my nerd heaven.
